VITREE 2024: All candidates need to pay an application fee of 1,200 rupees.
New Delhi: The registration for the Vellore Institute of Technology Research Entrance Examination (VITREE 2024) will close today, April 28. Interested and eligible candidates can fill out the VITREE 2024 registration form on the official website, admissions.vit.ac.in.
VITREE is conducted for admission to various Ph.D. and direct Ph.D. programs at VIT institutes. The VITREE 2024 exam will be held on May 5 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM in approximately 59 exam cities. VIT will conduct a personal interview round for students who qualify the entrance exam on May 18 and 19. According to the official schedule, the VITREE 2024 results will be announced on May 29.
VITREE 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can refer to the VITREE 2024 eligibility criteria below.
Ph.D.: Applicants should have a minimum of 60% marks or a Master’s degree with a CGPA of 6.5 in engineering or technology in the relevant field. Alternatively, qualifications such as M.Sc. (Engineering), M.S., or M.Tech. are accepted.
Direct Ph.D.: Candidates should have a strong academic background in the relevant subject area with a minimum of 75% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 in their Bachelor’s degree.
Ph.D. in Architecture and Planning: Interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or planning and a Master’s degree or equivalent degree in architecture, design, planning, building engineering, or management. They should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 throughout their academic career.

VITREE 2024: Exam Pattern
The VITREE 2024 exam will be conducted online in computer-based mode. The medium of the VITREE 2024 exam is English. The duration of the paper is 2 hours. There will be a total of 100 multiple-choice questions. The VITREE 2024 Ph.D. paper will have 3 sections – Technical, English Communication Skills, and Mathematics and Probability. On the other hand, the VITREE 2024 Direct Ph.D. will have only 2 sections – Technical and English Communication Skills. Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
